L.I.V.E. LEAD Concept and Program Details
Background and Objectives
In response to the call of the Brother Visitor of the Lasallian East Asia District (LEAD) to create a common project that will inspire all seven member countries or sectors to regularly and actively collaborate towards the renewal of the Mission, the LEAD Mission Council (LMC) proposed the L.I.V.E. LEAD (Lasallian Initiative for Volunteer Experience in LEAD), a formation and volunteer development program for young Lasallians of LEAD.
The program is a three-year plan, commencing in SY2020-21 is initially aimed at Lasallian students and learners. In succeeding years, will include a project aimed at teachers and educators.
The objectives of the inaugural project, L.I.V.E. LEAD, are to provide young Lasallians with a vehicle to deepen their understanding of their Lasallian Identity, strengthen their bond with fellow Young Lasallians, and inspire volunteerism to serve in the Mission, especially the young and those most in need.
To fulfill these desired outcomes, a Young Lasallian Congress via video conferencing is organized. This year, the theme of L.I.V.E. LEAD is "LEAD REFRESH: Young Lasallians working towards Recovery, Resilience and Renewal of the Lasallian Mission". As the District celebrates its 10th anniversary, this gathering of young Lasallians in LEAD signifies their renewal of commitment to be at the forefront of change and action towards social transformation.
