The De La Salle Brothers were invited to open a school in Thailand through the invitation of Bishop Louis Vey of the Diocese of Bangkok on 17 March 1898. The letter from the Bishop was sent to the Brothers asking for Brothers to be in charge of the Assumption College School in Bangrak. Later on, a second letter was sent on 23 November 1899 asking the Brothers to come and teach from the beginning of 1900. The Brothers were not able to come because there was a lot of school work in Singapore, Malaka, and Saigon in Vietnam.
Fifty years later, the Brothers decided to respond to the invitation letter through Bishop Louis Chorin inviting the Brothers to open a school in Thailand. The five Brothers left Saigon and arrived in Thailand on 31 August 1951. The Brothers stayed at Satorn Road which was near the house of the Bishop. The Brothers began learning Thai for a few months till they passed the Thai language test.
