Br. Joseph Lapp FSC † 1933 March 16 - 2020 February 15

With faith in the resurrection, we wish to inform readers of the passing of Br. Joseph Lapp FSC from the District of Eastern North America (DENA) on 2020 February 15. He worked in the Philippines specifically in Lipa (1967-1968) and Bacolod (1968-1970).

Eternal rest grant unto Joseph, O Lord.
And let perpetual light shine upon him.
And may the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God,
rest in peace. Amen.

Ethiopian Catholic University La Salle Visits DLSMHSI

On February 09, 2020, the Ethiopian Catholic University La Salle held a nine-day visit to De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute headed by the President Br. August Nicoletti FSC, Vice President and Provost Br. Getachew Alemayehu Nadew FSC and the Director for Medical Laboratory Technology Program Mr. Taye Lazzo in order to strengthen the linkages and fortify the Memorandum of Agreement between the two institutions. 

Formation Community 2020, Pyin Oo Lwin, Myanmar

The Maymyo Brothers’ Community takes off the ‘Come and See’ programme each year that lasts eight months, from January to August. It is part of the initial vocation promotion programme where the Brothers invite young men who have passed the High School Grade in the Local Educational System. This live-in programme takes in 10-15 boys every year to live with the Brothers and study the life and work of the Brothers. The Brothers help them in the betterment of their lives by forming them to become mature Christians.

Brother Visitor’s Canonical Visit To La Salle Chanthaburi (Mandapitak)

It was our honour to welcome Br. Armin Luistro FSC and Br Joseph Klong FSC to La Salle Chanthaburi (Mandapitak). Their visit brought joy to the Brothers and the school. On Friday, February 7, 2020 during the school assembly, the school organized a simple welcoming ceremony where he listened to a brief report of the school by a student from Grade 10. Br. Armin then gave an inspirational speech.

Br. Dan Sanding FSC Professes Final Vows

Lasallian Partners and Brothers from different regions of the Philippines gathered on February 9, 2020, feast day of Saint Brother Miguel Febres Cordero FSC, to witness and celebrate the profession of Final Vows of Br. Dan Sanding FSC. The celebration began with a mass at 10:00 am and was held at the Two Hearts of Jesus and Mary Chapel, De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute (DLSMHSI), Dasmariñas City, Cavite, Philippines.

LSA & USLS Levels Up In PAASCU Accreditation

La Salle Academy (LSA) and University of St. La Salle (USLS), two La Salle schools from the Philippines, reached highest accreditation levels for their Basic Education Programs and eight College Degree Programs.

On 24 January 2020, the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) officially delivered the good news to LSA - Iligan and USLS - Bacolod.

In a letter addressed to Br. Antonio Cesar J. Servando FSC, LSA President, PAASCU granted Level III Status to the school valid until May 2023.

Come And See Experience

Five women from Singapore who are discerning for the religious life visited the Brothers and the Postulants of the Lasallian Formation Center and the St. Benilde Brothers Community last February 3, 2020. Jane, Maria, Melissa, Kareen and Jace joined the come and see experience to the Philippines which aims to give them the opportunity to visit and see the life of the different religious congregations in the Philippines to give them a wider perspective of the vocation on the religious life.
