Brother William Muir (1904-2004)

We are indebted to Brother Vincent Corkery for tracing, at first hand, the life journey of Brother William: from sun-scorched south India to the plantations of West Malaysia, to schooling in Malacca, to spiritual formation in Penang, to teaching in Hong Kong and finally to fifty five years of devoted educational service in various capacities in Singapore. 

Brother William’s life is best told, as near as possible, in his own words. Here goes.

A Bond of Friendship between Hakodate La Salle and La Salle Academy Iligan

The One La Salle International Collaborative Performance was created by students from La Salle Academy Iligan, Philippines and the Hakodate La Salle Junior High School as an expression of their One La Salle spirit.

The project was started in April 2025. By June, teachers from both Lasallian school begun meeting online to plan. Young Lasallians from both schools spent the next two months working together to prepare for the show.

Stewarding the Mission - Lasallian Governance in Action

On 19 July 2025, Lasallian leaders, governors, and principals gathered for a full-day leadership formation programme titled “Stewarding the Mission – Lasallian Governance in Action.” The event, held at La Salle House, aimed to strengthen the shared Lasallian mission and deepen participants’ understanding of Catholic and Lasallian identity in the governance of schools.

PARC Vietnam Lasallian Formation Program: A Journey on Leadership, Pedagogy and Association with Brothers and Partners in the Vietnam District

Over the course of five months, members of the District Council of Vietnam collaborated closely with an ad-hoc team of educators from De La Salle University to design distinct leadership and formation programs tailored for the Brothers and Lasallian partners in Vietnam. This collaborative effort involved regular correspondence and both virtual and in-person meetings. The planning process was comprehensive. It began with gathering profiles and expectations of potential participants, followed by the selection and preparation of materials for translation into Vietnamese and Khmer.

Tagpuan 8.0

Tagpuan (Encounter) 8.0 is a collaborative project of the De La Salle Brothers in Hong Kong and the De La Salle Alumni Association—One La Salle Hong Kong, which was held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the Lasallian Youth Centre in Sheung Shui.
