National Day Celebration 2022

SINGAPORE - After 2 years, we could finally gather as a school in the hall to celebrate our Nation’s birthday!

We started the day with the observance ceremony and also listened to the National Day message by our Minister of Education.

The boys headed back to class to learn more about this year’s National Day theme and logo.

Buddhist Lent: A Way To Pay Respect In A Lasallian Way

THAILAND - The Buddhist teachers, staff, and students of La Salle Sangkhlaburi and Chanthaburi organize a candle offering ceremony as part of the Buddhist Lent this July 14, 2022. Buddhist Lent is one of the important days for Buddhists as it is the day that marks the beginning of the three-month retreat for monks of the Theravada monastic discipline, during which they will stay in a particular place throughout the rainy season.

USLS Celebrates 70th Handumanan Week

PHILIPPINES - Anchored to the theme from the General Chapter of the Brothers of the Christian Schools “To Dream is Our Way Forward: Building New Paths to Transform Lives", the University of St. La Salle (USLS) celebrated the 70th Handumanan Week (Founding Anniversary) with the theme: DREAM FORWARD: BUILD NEW PATHS. TRANSFORM LIVES on June 27 to July 1, 2022.

The term Handumanan means remembrance in the local language – Hiligaynon.

Br. Edmon Professes Final Vows

HONG KONG - We Hong Kong Lasallians are truly blessed as we could be part of, not just one, but two Final Profession of Vows within a year since half a century ago. Following the Eucharistic celebration of Br Paolo in December last year, on 30 July 2022, Br Edmon Viroomal made the rite of his final vows.

HKDSE Top Scorer And Author

HONG KONG - The Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE) examination results have already been released and one student from La Salle College came out as a top scorer. Jason Cheung Yan Shek got 5** in seven subjects. What’s also interesting is that, at his young age, he has already written a textbook about organic chemistry that encompasses everything within the HKDSE syllabus as well as interesting facts and knowledge beyond the syllabus.

MYANMAR - We would like to express our thanks and appreciation to Mr. Marco Rey Macatangay for his labor and love with Lasallian Mission in La Salle Centre, Yangon.

His willingness to use his gifts and abilities has strengthened the Lasallian mission and educational services for the youth in Myanmar.

His service has been greatly appreciated by the students, staff and leaders from La Salle Centre.

Mr. Marco Rey Macatangay has volunteered to teach in our Online English Program (Advanced Level) from Jan 2022 to July 2022.

La Salle Thailand Celebrates Wai Kru Day

THAILAND - Thai students honor their teachers by commemorating Wai Kru Day, also known as Teachers’ Appreciation Day. This traditional Thai ceremony is held at the start of the new academic year to demonstrate respect and thanks for teachers' tireless work. During the celebration, the kids create and present a phan, a traditional Thai tray filled with flowers, candles, popped rice, and other presents.
